Plaintiffs’ Motion to Compel Discovery

Posted on March 11, 2021

In response to the court granting expedited discovery, LAUSD and UTLA were responsible for producing documents related to the side-letter agreements for distance learning and school reopening. The defendants produced some of these documents but excluded some key pieces. Plaintiffs’ lawyers filed a motion to compel UTLA and LAUSD to supply the missing items. Of interest, minutes from the negotiations between UTLA and LAUSD from July – December 2020 are attached as exhibits to the declaration in support of the motion,  linked below. These minutes provide a direct window into the politics that harm Los Angeles’s students.
